Grocery shopping last night came as a complete and utter shock to me. Items that I had known I had purchased in the past at much lower prices stood before me with sticker shock that usually I only occur when I go window shopping for a vehicle. Our small family's grocery bill swelling past one hundred dollars with little to show for it. Thank G-d for my wife's patience to clip and save every coupon and to make sure they are on hand when we make these trips so that the numbers on the bill fall somewhere near where they used to. I understand that the economy is tough and everyone needs to tighten their belts, including the producers of most of the products in my shopping cart, but it would be nice for a change if the persons who needed to tighten their belts did not do so around my wallet. So best of luck to my fellow shoppers and remember the best investment in these economic times seems to be the Sunday paper, for all of those life saving coupons.
